Acceptable Use Policy

This policy sets out what you may not do on OwnVouch. It's part of our Terms of Service.

You agree not to

• Submit a false ownership, lost, or stolen report. Reports affect other people's ability to buy, sell, or trust the registry — a knowingly false report is treated as fraud.
• Attempt to register, transfer, or clear a device you know to be stolen, or otherwise use the Service to launder the provenance of a stolen device.
• Circumvent or falsify identity verification — including using someone else's identity, a fabricated document, or attempting a transfer on behalf of someone who has not consented.
• Interfere with another user's legitimate transaction, including submitting a report timed to disrupt a pending transfer without a good-faith basis.
• Harass, threaten, or attempt to deanonymize a counterparty beyond the information necessary to complete a transaction.
• Abuse the public lookup or API — scraping, bulk-querying, or using the Service to build a competing registry or dataset.
• Interfere with the security or operation of the Service, including attempting to access another user's account, reverse-engineer verification logic, or overload our infrastructure.
• Use the Service for anything illegal, including trafficking in counterfeit or unlawfully obtained devices.

Disputing a report

If you believe a lost/stolen report on a device is false or you are the rightful current holder, contact support@ownvouch.com with supporting evidence. We will review in good faith but cannot guarantee a particular outcome, and reserve the right to require additional identity verification from either party before changing a record.

Enforcement

We may warn, suspend, or permanently terminate accounts that violate this policy, remove or flag affected records, and — where the conduct is unlawful — report it to law enforcement. Violations may also result in liability to affected users under our Terms of Service.
