Terms of Service

Effective date: September 15, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Codebled (exact registered entity name & address) ("OwnVouch," "we," "us") governing your use of the OwnVouch app and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least minimum age · 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. One account per person; accounts may not be shared, sold, or transferred.

2. What OwnVouch is — and isn't

OwnVouch is a device registry: a record of who currently holds a device, its ownership history, and whether it has been reported lost or stolen, built on information supplied by users, device manufacturers, and identity-verification checks.

OwnVouch is not a title registry, escrow service, notary, or guarantor of ownership. We verify the identity of the people completing a transfer and record what they attest to — we do not independently confirm that a seller has the legal right to sell a device, and a "clear" record on OwnVouch is not a legal guarantee of lawful title. You are solely responsible for satisfying yourself, through whatever means you consider appropriate, that a transaction is legitimate before relying on it.

3. Your account

You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method (email/phone one-time codes, or Google/Apple sign-in) secure. Notify us immediately at support@ownvouch.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Identity verification

Some actions (in particular, completing an ownership transfer) require identity verification through our verification vendor. You agree to provide accurate information for this purpose. We may refuse, delay, or unwind a transfer if verification fails or appears fraudulent.

5. Reporting a device lost or stolen

Reporting a device as lost or stolen is a factual claim you are making, visible to others who look up that device. False reports made in bad faith, or to interfere with a legitimate transaction, are a material breach of these Terms and may result in account termination and liability to affected parties. We are not responsible for verifying the accuracy of a report before it is visible on the registry, though we provide a dispute process — see Acceptable Use.

6. Transfers between users

When you complete a device transfer through the Service:

  • The terms you and the counterparty record (warranty transfer, accessories, condition, price note) are stored as part of the permanent audit trail and cannot be edited after the fact, only superseded by a new agreed record.
  • OwnVouch is not a party to the underlying sale or exchange of the device, does not handle payment between parties, and is not responsible for the condition of the device, the accuracy of what either party represents, or disputes about price or payment.
  • You are responsible for complying with any laws applicable to the sale, purchase, or transfer of the device in your jurisdiction.

7. Household sharing and marketplace hand-off links

Household sharing extends visibility of a device's status to people you invite — you are responsible for who you invite. Marketplace hand-off links may expose limited device status information to a third-party marketplace or the recipient of the link; do not share a hand-off link with anyone you do not intend to give that access to.

8. Fees

The Service is currently provided free of charge. We may introduce fees for certain features in the future; we will give you notice before any fee applies to your use of the Service.

9. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the OwnVouch app for its intended purpose. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, resell, or use the Service to build a competing product, except to the extent applicable law gives you the right to do so despite this restriction.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Google (Sign in with Google), Apple (Sign in with Apple), Twilio (message delivery), and our identity-verification vendor. Your use of features backed by these providers is also subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of these third parties.

11. Prohibited conduct

See our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

12. Termination

You may close your account at any time — see Account & Data Deletion. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law, or where required to protect the integrity of the registry. Certain records (the audit trail, and information we are legally required to retain) survive termination as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY OWNERSHIP OR VERIFICATION RECORD IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CODEBLED WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM A TRANSACTION BETWEEN USERS, A DISPUTED OWNERSHIP CLAIM, OR A FALSE LOST/STOLEN REPORT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED liability cap.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Codebled harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or a transaction you enter into with another user.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of governing law / jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. dispute resolution clause — courts vs. arbitration

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
